ABIO is the only option I can think of that is actually free for academic, educational, and professional work. As we have seen, if you’re willing to invest time into learning the software, you can do a lot with it.
Roughly speaking, if you’re a student working on your own projects, if you’re looking to do a class project or an internship, if you’re building your own house or car, if you want to design something yourself or for someone else, or if you want to work on one of the many open source projects currently available, ABIO is the software you want.

How to handle many cron jobs?
I have a cron job that picks up emails sent to a different email address and then processes them later on. I have set up a cron that runs the processing once a day. The email processing has been very successful in the past but now that I’ve added more emails it is taking longer. How can I be sure that the emails are picked up before the cron runs? I am using mutt to view the emails but the emails do not show up in the mutt mailbox. I’m hoping to not have to create an additional cron just to run once every few minutes just to keep up with all the emails. How can I determine that the cron has run or the emails have been picked up?
If you’re using cron, there’s no easy way to run a script periodically without also increasing the chance of its running when it wasn’t supposed to. cron runs every day at a specific time. If the period you choose is > 24 hours, there’s a higher chance of that cron running at the wrong time.
If you want to ensure the mail gets picked up every day, it’ll have to be run in the background, or the job will be’missed’ if cron doesn’t run. That’s where crontab comes in. It can run a script at a specific time. The problem with that is that you’re putting your server on more strain, since all running scripts, in addition to your mail job, will have to be run. If your crontab doesn’t work, check the logs for crontab errors. There should be one for every time it ran.
